What is HyProCure®?
HyProCure® is a minimally invasive procedure, which means it is done by making a small incision in the foot or ankle that pushes a titanium stent in the natural space between the ankle bone and heel bone to prevent the ankle bone from rolling in. There is no screwing or drilling involved. This stops or decreases the abnormal, excessive motion. Adler Footcare is one of the few practices in New York offering HyProCure®. We are also the only practice in the tri-state area that consults regularly with the inventor of the process, Dr. Michael Graham.

Adler Footcare was recognized in August of 2014 as the first HyProCure® Center of Excellence in New York. The group is one of less than 20 nationwide to receive the designation from GraMedica, a global orthopedic medical device company headquartered in Macomb, Michigan. The Center of Excellence designation reflects superior quality of care, education and experience as related to the HyProCure® medical procedure.
What Conditions Does HyProCure Treat?
Most adults and children with foot pain, and pain in other areas of their body related to the foot pain, can benefit from HyProCure®. There may be certain conditions that affect the procedure. These can best be determined by a physician.
The podiatrists at Adler Footcare have two main goals when they see a patient:
- Find the cause of the problem
- Get rid of the foot pain in the quickest and best way possible
Does the procedure hurt?
Most patients experience little or no pain. At the worst we hear patients report that they experience what feels like a minor ankle sprain that lasts 2-3 days. Some patients feel so good they have been known to go dancing the next day, but we really discourage that! You will leave the office with a walking boot and within 3-5 days you’ll be walking in your own shoes. We suggest no running or jumping for 4-6 weeks. The first 3 weeks are critical to give the joint space time to heal and the let the stent settle in its correct position. The photo here shows a patient doing her routine Yoga just three days after her treatment.
Will I still be able to do normal activities like sports or dancing?
Absolutely! Currently your joint is like a door without a door frame. The HyProCure® treatment places the frame around the door. It allows your ankle to move only as it is intended to rather than moving wherever it wants to. It is like having a built in orthotic in your body that regulates movement so you can stand longer and walk, run and dance without pain.
What are the long term results?
There have been 25,000 cases done in the United States with a 96% success rate. Here at Adler Footcare we have not seen any cases where patients did not experience success. We are careful to follow all the correct protocols and consult directly with the inventor of the solution to ensure the best results possible. HyProCure® is going to help with the long term flexibility and bearing weight properly in your feet.
